Why the cracks?

   Golden Log Homes uses very dry timber. Our logs have a moisture content of 10% to 13%. The cracks seen, actually called checks, occur during the natural drying process of timber. The only logs without checks will have a higher moisture content, probably resulting in warping and shrinking problems as they dry.
